We are glad to announce the Open Call for VIDEO DANCE WORKS submissions of applications for participating in Dance Days Chania 2023.
Video Dance section encourages national and international submissions of film made after 2018, which uniquely reflect a strong visual language and introduce challenging and inspiring choreographies made for the camera.
This year’s section will spotlight works made by women choreographers or cinematographers, short duration works and 1minute video dance.

Possible dates of realization: 22.07 – 02.08.2023.
Dance Days Chania is being organized by the Syn-Kinisi Association of Expressive Dance since 2011 with volunteer work of its members, having as a co-organizer the Municipality of Chania and the Region of Crete. The last few years, DDC receives the support of national and international institutions and organizations (J. F. Costopoulos Foundation, Flux Laboratory Athens, American Dance Abroad etc.) as well as embassies. In 2017 Stavros Niarchos Foundation has been major donor of the festival. Finally, for some editions the festival has received the financial support of the Ministry of Culture.
DDC has received the EFFE Label 2017-2018, 2019-2021 & 2022-2023 certification by the European Organization EFA.
Its program consists of performances, workshops, site specific projects, the Video Dance section, the “New creators and Public space” section, lectures and more.
