“Speed the Spiral” begins from the concept that the body is the perfect tool, and from there, the body is to train so as to achieve optimal activation of the neuromuscular system.
Using dance combinations rich in flow, the dancer is to investigate the correct control of the body and the continuous development of technique. “Speed the Spiral” focuses on five pillars: continuous flow, weight transfers, level changes, speed and preciseness in performance, and interchanges of dynamics. The ultimate goal is to train the body so as to precisely respond to a high level of complex movement. For this, the main concept is that of the Spirral, which constantly flows through the body and joints, so as for energy to continuously transfer, through constant flow, from one point of the body to another, with the minimum effort possible.
Plotinos studied classical and contemporary dance at the Greek State School of Dance and graduated from the “Rallou Manou” Professional Dance School. He also holds a postgraduate degree in “Performing in Art” from the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (S.E.A.D.). During his study at the S.E.A.D. he joined in the Bodhi Project Dance company (2010-2011) and cooperated with several choreographers, such as Matej Kejzar, Maya M. Carrol, Zoe Knights and Magdalena Reiter, while touring around Europe. He has also danced with David Zambrano and participated in “Flying Low and Passing Through”, an intensive workshop held in Athens in 2015. He cooperates with the Asomates Dynameis dance company in Cyprus,Natasa Zouka and Apostolia Papadamaki in Greece.
He teaching release technique at “XoroXronos” Higher Professional Dance School in Athens and is also responsible for the course, “Theory and Teaching” of contemporary dance. He has published the book “Theory-Analysis-Teaching of Contemporary Dance”. He holds a degree in Physical Education and Sports Science from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Serres), with specialisation on the Biology of Exercise. He is a certified instructor of Pilates by The Pilates Coach (mat and equipment), Yoga by Yoga Alliance (200h), BodyART™ and the GYROTONIC method. Additionally, he is the coordinator of the Stretch Concept programme in “The Concept” company.

“Speed the Spiral”Το μάθημα αντιμετωπίζει το σώμα ως το τέλειο εργαλείο, βάζοντάς το στη διαδικασία να πειθαρχεί και να ενεργοποιεί στα βέλτιστα το νευρομυϊκό σύστημα. Μέσα από χορευτικούς συνδυασμούς με έντονο το στοιχείο της ροής (flow), διερευνάται η σωστή διαχείριση του σώματος και η συνεχής εξέλιξη της τεχνικής. Οι πέντε βασικοί πυλώνες που δουλεύουμε στο μάθημα είναι: η συνεχόμενη ροή, οι μεταφορές βάρους, οι αλλαγές επιπέδων, οι εναλλαγές δυναμικών και τέλος η ταχύτητα και η ακρίβεια εκτέλεσης. Στόχος, να εκπαιδεύσουμε το σώμα να μπορεί να ανταποκριθεί με ακρίβεια σε υψηλό βαθμό πολυπλοκότητας της κίνησής του. Κύριος πρωταγωνιστής είναι το spiral που ρέει συνεχώς στο σώμα και στις αρθρώσεις έτσι ώστε η ενέργεια να μεταφέρεται με συνεχόμενη ροή από το ένα σημείο του σώματος στο άλλο με τη λιγότερη δυνατή προσπάθεια.
