The educational program “My Body Speaks” is being implemented for the fourth consecutive year by DDC through interactive workshops offered free of charge to teachers and students from October through June of each school year. It is co-organized with the Primary Education Directorate of the Municipality of Chania and the Municipality of Chania, which provides venues for the program.

To date, more than 80 teachers have participated in and been trained through the program, and over 1,800 children from the city and the surrounding region have benefited from it. The program’s goal is, on the one hand, to strengthen emotional and physical awareness and, on the other hand, to prevent violent behavior in schools. Through physical expression and the art of dance, the program focuses on fostering empathy and solidarity within the educational community.

Works created by the children during their sessions and assignments are presented during the festival in an exhibition in the lobby of the “Mikis Theodorakis” Theater.
