hardcore echoes is an ongoing sonic and bodily research project initiated by the desire to “search for things where there is nothing.” At its core are the hands as carriers of sensory memory, through which labor is approached as a practice of repetition, meditation, and feedback. The research draws from the material traces of manual practices: surfaces that wear down, are shaped and transformed, movements that are repeated and gestures that acquire rhythm, as well as from the notion of hardcore as a condition of extreme dedication. Within this framework, manipulations and techniques from different professional fields are transferred into the realm of sound, forming a process of translating action into acoustic form. This process unfolds through a musical live set. The live environment functions as an open laboratory where sound and body are tested in real time. The performance creates a framework for investigating the relationship between manual labor and sound production, challenging the boundaries between process and outcome.
