In this workshop we will work with the RESET method – an open-level movement practice with improvisational application, a result of Ioulia’s research.

Its purpose is to understand the function of the body’s members and connections in a holistic approach to it, as well as the dynamic balance of its structure which contributes to the coordination required to move the body.

In more detail, participants will initially work with the help of a partner to fully understand each directive and to develop interaction, communication and cooperation. Then they will develop their autonomy through relationships with rhythm, space and direction for a “writing” that is as conscious as possible.

The goal is for each person, through an open framework without standards, through his own perspective and translation, to explore and subsequently learn his body and himself, fully understanding what information he transmits when he dances.

Ioulia Zacharaki graduated from the State School of Dance and since 2017 has been collaborating with Anton Lachky’s company, as well as with other choreographers in Greece, presenting their works at festivals and theaters. She has found her inner source of drive and creativity with the help of inspirational teachers, martial arts and personal observation. Her works have been presented at Kalamata International Dance Festival, Dance Days Chania, Dance Laboratory Rhodes and Open Sails Festival. Currently, she is in collaboration with Varvara Bardaka in the framework of the “Amfi” project after a grant from the Ministry of Culture.
