The piece achronic fractures is a performance project with and for 11 women aged 65+ from the local community of Chania. Through an artistic residency of 10 days the woman weave together with the creator Polena Kolia Petersen the movement material of the piece that results through experiential explorations of memory and sensation of the maturing body that moves, dances, expresses, connects. Changes and maturation of the body, loss and the body that senses, remembers, become here the source of emancipation and transformation. Sources that call us to dive transversally into the layers of the body and the imprints it carries, in order to unfold vulnerably and courageously the inside out, the outside in, to overcome the individualistic isolation and open up to coexistence.Perhaps daring to excavate and listen to the fractures of the history and sensations in the personal and collective body, we will find threads that connect the before, now and after, in order for us to empower the timeless collective journey in life, death and rebirth in our personal construction, the body, and our collective, society.
