PITT is a project-based contemporary dance company, founded and directed by award-winning choreographer Phoebe Jewitt in 2022. Based in Aargau, Switzerland, the company’s repertoire consists of works created by Phoebe Jewitt, which have toured across Europe and to Asia since its inception.
England-born choreographer and dancer Phoebe Jewitt performed with TanzLuzern for six seasons before establishing herself as a freelance choreographer. She creates work for both PITT and a range of international institutions. Her recent and upcoming commissions include TanzLuzern, Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (BA Contemporary Dance), Luzerner Theater Opera, VERVE, and DAF Dance Arts Faculty and 7×7 Tanzhaus Basel.
Jewitt writes: “I’m fascinated by the complexity of the human experience — how we shift through emotional, mental, and physical states. My choreographic work explores the tension between instinct and social conditioning, creating immersive worlds where movement, sound, and poetry meet.”
Trilogy explores the complex relationship between time, aging, and memory loss. It weaves together fragments of memories, uncovering the emotions tied to them and the impact they have on us. Like time itself, Trilogy moves through three interconnected moments, each echoing the others to create a layered and deeply human narrative.
Inspired by Phoebe Jewitt’s personal experience with her grandfather’s dementia, the work reflects on memory’s role in shaping who we are — and what happens when we begin to forget.
Trilogy invites the audience to step inside the mind — where past, present, and future overlap. Along the way, we meet an old man, his younger self, and his beloved — each representing different layers of memory and identity. The work asks: What makes a memory last? How do emotions shape what we remember? And what can trigger a lost or forgotten moment to return?
