This is a solo-performance based on the idea of a journey organized and experienced by a man who explores the concept of changing and transferring from one point to another, wandering, restarting, and eventually the action to manage within a borderless, limitless, timeless, empty, and white landscape.
Dance Days Chania Performance
With the collaboration of the musician Sakis Kleisiaris (original music composition), a sound environment is created as a musical score, on which the kinetic action gradually unfolds. The performer – dancer, as a traveler in space and time, experiments with a simple and subtle kinetic vocabulary, redefining every time his position and perspective.
By combining the continuous transfer of the body through alternations of weight, axis, position and gaze, with the idea of a world in an ever violent and a constant redistribution, common sites and points of reference are sought. The performance, reminiscent of the timeless human displacement, is inspired by Fernando Pesoa’s book. Using the body and the sound as instruments, it approaches and documents a journey of reversals, pauses, alertness, redefinition and reconstruction.
