Jacob Gómez would teach the workshop by applying the same methodology of work that he used during the creation of Meohadim.
Meohadim talks about the need to reconnect with the forgotten experiences and memories of our past that made us be the people we are today.
Guided improvisation would be use as a tool to reconnect with those sensations and let them flourish thru our bodies.
Some combinations and selected material from the existing piece would be thought as well, giving the chance to have a much more intimate and physical experience.
It is a workshop that searches for a dialogue in between mind and body. It wants to create an open and safe environment for the dancers to have their own research and hopefully find a voice inside the world of the choreographer.
Born in 1991 in Valencia, Spain, Jacob began his training at Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Valencia. Graduated from Institut del Teatre. Began dancing professionally in 2014 in IT Dansa in Barcelona under the Artistic Direction of Catherine Allard. Relocated to Germany in 2015, dancing in two different theaters; first in Theater Pforzheim under the Direction of Guido Markowitz and then from 2016-2018 Theater Bielefeld under Artistic Director Simone Sandroni.
Joined Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company’s in September 2018.
In these companies he starts to make different choreographies for professional dancers and for non professionals. Jacob Gómez creates his first piece of big format in 2019 , a piece that has performed in different theaters national and international and owning different prices.
In 2020 he won the prize as a best dancer of Catalonia in “Premis Butaca´´. Right now he is a freelancer dancer, choreographer. He choreographed for different festivals like Dança Almada in Portugal, Corpo mobile in Italy etc.
