Clémentine Telesfort (France) and Lisard Tranis (Catalonia) are award- winning dance artists and choreographers based in Barcelona. Since 2019, their collaboration has developed into a distinctive choreographic practice that merges research and stage creation, exploring movement and body expression as tools of communication.

Their partnership stems from a shared curiosity for subtle bodily states, those that allow images, characters, and emotions to emerge through embodiment. Together, they construct a common imaginary that treats -attention- as a dramaturgical instrument, celebrating presence and the delicate space between the everyday and the subconscious. Their works create poetic realms where simplicity, intimacy, and physical precision coexist.

Both Clémentine and Lisard have work alongside renowned international choreographer, including Guy Nader & Maria Campos, Lali Ayguadé, Panama Pictures, and Roser Lopez Espinosa among others. Years of shared performing experience nurtured a strong creative dialogue and a singular physical language, leading them to embark on their own choreographic path.

Their first creation, Scotoma (2021), was acclaimed at numerous national and international festivals for its refined physicality and evocative imagery. In 2024, they premiered their first full-length stage work, La Mecànica de l’Infortuni, an exploration of perception, failure, and the unseen mechanisms that move us.

Alongside their creations, they engage actively as educators, regularly teaching at international festivals, professional institutions, and training programs such as SEAD, Deltebre Dansa, Codarts, Descalzinha Danza amongst many others. Their workshop, The Attentive Act, proposes a laboratory space for cultivating partnering skills through the lens of attention, presence, and rigorous physical exploration. Their work continues to earn recognition for its refined physicality, poetry, and deep humanity, placing them among the notable emerging voices in contemporary European dance.

“Falling into misfortune but nevertheless seeing the irony and the humor within it. Searching in the dark. In adverse situations, invent an alternative. It all depends on the perspective.”

The duo of dancers Clémentine Telesfort and Lisard Tranis bring to the stage the expressiveness that emerges from body language and the physical reflexes that come into play when facing adverse circumstances. “La Mecànica de l’Infortuni” seeks to question the resilience of the human being, and expose which patterns are formed in the body when faced with misfortune.

A reflection on the creative capacity of the imagination, in which irony and humor serve as an outlet. This piece of dance, theater and objects, reveals the grotesqueness of being whilst celebrating the beauty that resides in our clumsy mistakes, from where the genuineness of movement and gestures emerges.
