The masterclass will unfold in two complementary phases: a first part dedicated to rhythmic research and a second focused on choreographic work, using real-time composition scores developed together based on the first part’s experimentation.

Starting from some key aspects of his choreographic practice — gesture, composition, and rhythmic phrasing — Adriano will invite participants to explore how movement can emerge and develop through the use of the hands, arms, face, and specific parts of the body. Participants will investigate how these elements can merge through different dynamics and movement qualities.

The first part of the workshop will be devoted to body awareness and deconstruction, through improvisation, partner, and group exercises designed to stimulate mental and physical reactivity, with a strong emphasis on listening and group awareness. The second part will shift towards choreographic work.

Adriano’s creative process is based on instant composition: all choreographic material is generated live in the studio, in dialogue with the dancers present. He does not use improvisation nor does he arrive with pre-constructed material — instead, he works in the “here and now”, allowing himself to be shaped by the people and the energy in the room.
