Platforma 13 is a creative duo founded by choreographers Anca Stoica and Sergiu Diță, dedicated to challenging norms and conventions within the performing arts. Their artistic research is rooted in collaborative and transdisciplinary practices, exploring new ways of engaging audiences and expanding the language of contemporary dance.
Both artists hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Choreography from the National University of Theatre and Film (UNATC) in Bucharest, and attended the Academy of Dance and Performance 2022–2023 at the National Center for Dance Bucharest (CNDB).
In 2025, the National Center for Dance Bucharest (CNDB) Award was given to the artistic collective Platforma 13 (Anca Stoica & Sergiu Diță) for embracing curiosity, vulnerability and artistic risk through choreographic projects based on collaborative and transdisciplinary practices.
Recent works include Solarisation (2025), Balkan Ballerinas (2024), Play Replay Remix (2023), and Pop Recycling Body Work (2022). Platforma 13 has participated in Bucharest Biennale 10, Mittelyoung (Cividale del Friuli/ Italy), Artown Festival, Spieltriebe Festival (Osnabrück/Germany) & Battery Dance Festival (New York/ USA).
Balkan Ballerinas is a performance that aims to question the boundaries of the body by relating to Eastern European and Balkan identity. Inspired by stigmas and identity stereotypes created by the West and projected onto the Balkans, the performance conducts an analysis of Balkan culture. The body is portrayed as a transition zone, between two instances – pride and shame, past and present, folklore and rave, ballet and manele (Romanian pop-folk music). Starting from the concepts of Balkanism and post-communism, the performance investigates a reactive body that challenges prejudices, normative models, and geographical, political and cultural boundaries.
