Starting from the need to tell stories—whether personal or not—we will focus on ways we can embody them and create a new form of storytelling. Through improvisation and a variety of tools that can spark our imagination, we will explore the unique way in which each body “speaks.”
Ιro Κonti was born and raised in Αthens. She is a graduate of the State School of Dance and the Law school of the Democritus University of Thrace. As a dancer, she has collaborated with choreographers and directors such as Alleyne Dance Co., Romeo Castellucci, Russell Maliphant, RootlessRoot (Linda Kapetanea & Jozef Frucek), Jasmin Vardimon, Jenny Argyriou, Yiannis Kakleas, Marianna Kavallieratos, Ermira Goro, Fotis Nicolaou, Alexandros Stavropoulos, Anton Lachky, and Jukstapoz Dance Co., among others, performing in Greece and abroad.
In August 2020, she presented her first solo work, titled Numbed Emotion. In July 2024, she premiered her second personal work, Modulus of resilience, at the 30th Kalamata International Dance Festival, and in March 2026 she performed her new work MIRROŘING, a work for two performers.
She has also choreographed movement for theatrical productions and worked as an assistant choreographer to Konstantinos Rigos,-Artistic director of the Greek National Opera ballet-, for the productions the Nutcracker, Microdances (a collaboration with Aterballetto Dance Co.) and the upcoming production “Tόσαις φοραίς τόσο κοντά”, dedicated to C. P. Cavafy. She has also collaborated with Ermira Goro on Plan b (2021) for the Greek National Opera Ballet and Skipping on Stardust (2025).
Her practice explores how the body and voice can be used in diverse ways to create a language that is abstract, yet highly precise.
