Η ομάδα χορού Teatro Mayor προσφέρει ένα σεμινάριο στο πλαίσιο του Dance Days Chania, το οποίο απευθύνεται σε επαγγελματίες χορεύτριες/ές και προχωρημένου επιπέδου.
Το σεμινάριο για επαγγελματίες/προχωρημένους θα προσφερθεί από την καλλιτεχνική διευθύντρια και χορογράφο της Εταιρείας Sarah Storer. Θα αποτελείται από μιάμιση ώρα μάθημα σύγχρονου χορού, όπου θα καταδυθεί στο φυσικό σύμπαν της Storer, με έμφαση στο βάρος, την πτώση, το πιάσιμο και το πώς χρησιμοποιούμε αυτές τις ανθρώπινες ιδιότητες για να κινηθούμε ως χορευτές, ενσωματώνοντας παράλληλα τη μουσικότητα και τη δυναμική. Θα ακολουθήσει μιάμιση ώρα ρεπερτόριο της ομάδας, όπου οι συμμετέχοντες θα μάθουν φράσεις και ακολουθίες από το τελευταίο ολοκληρωμένο έργο της Even night herself is here, το οποίο θα παρουσιαστεί στις 24 Ιουλίου στο πλαίσιο του Φεστιβάλ.
CoDTM (Compañía de Danza del Teatro Mayor) was founded in 2019 by Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogotá, Colombia, and is directed by British choreographer Sarah Storer. It is a contemporary dance company that creates large and medium format pieces, and currently has 8 dancers. It explores the creation of poetic and metaphorical images through dance and scenic composition, offering viewers a kinetic and visual experience of great harmony and cohesion. Its repertoire includes the works Even night herself Is here, Lilith’s Dream, 300 Miles (in co-production with the UIS Piano Festival) and Lilith: The Awakening, directed by Sarah Storer; Return, directed by the Colombian choreographer Yovanny Martínez; and the dance film Ímpeto in collaboration with Monarca Producciones and Nicolás García Ruiz.
The Company has participated annually in Danza en la ciudad Festival since 2019 in Bogotá, and performed in the V International Dance Biennial of Cali. It participated in the International Piano Festival of the Universidad Industrial de Santander and the Choreolab show of the Javeriana University’s Faculty of Arts. The company has made two national tours, visiting stages in cities such as Medellín, Bucaramanga, Cali and Barranquilla. On an educational level, the Company offers professional dance workshops, training and awareness-raising classes for communities of various ages, and master classes in various styles of contemporary dance and repertoire.
Sarah Storer has been a professional dancer / choreographer for the past 22 years. She has performed, toured and created work in London, nationally and internationally. Sarah attended The Central School of Ballet in London before graduating from The Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, UK.
As a dancer Sarah has worked with numerous international choreographers and companies, including – Protein Dance Theatre (London) – Bonachela Dance Company (London) – Henri Oguike Dance Company (London) – National Dance Company Wales (Cardiff) – Company L’Explose (Bogota) – Bill T Jones (New York) – Frederic Flamand (Brussels) – Örjan Andersson (Stockholm) – Toni Mira (Barcelona) – Didy Feldman (Amsterdam) – Kim Brandstrup (London) – Ben Wright (London).
Her work as a choreographer / director includes – National Dance Company Wales (Cardiff) – choreographic assistant, Pecsi Ballet (Hungary) – CAT Company, The Place (London) -‘The Marriage of Figaro ‘, The Colombian National Opera (Bogota) – full length choreographic collaboration for the Resident Dance Company Jorge Eliecer Gaitán Theatre (Bogota) – ‘Puss in Boots’ an operetta for The Colon Theatre (Bogota) – two full length musicals for director Jorge Ali Triana (Bogotá) – Associate choreographer, Sesc Cia de Dança, Belo Horizonte (Brazil)
At present Sarah is the artistic director / choreographer of Dance Company Teatro Mayor in Bogota, Colombia.
